CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Wilson got his Oktoberfest on at the soon to open Gilde Brewery in Lower South End. The nearly 500-year-old brewery is opening its first location outside of Germany in Charlotte in just a few weeks.
The Embassy at Gilde Brewery is located at 3530 Dewitt Lane. The microbrewery will have seating for 350 people and will be able to produce close to 5,000 barrels of beer each year. The brewmaster Willi Wallstab spoke about the installation of the tanks and when they will begin brewing operations. They will be hosting events where people can learn about the brewing process and also try some authentic German food.
