Waking up to a chilly start across the region. Some spots are 10 degrees cooler than even 24 hours ago. A frost advisory is in effect for the mountains and northern foothills as temps cool into the upper 30s for the highest elevations. Patchy frost will be possible this morning near the I-40 corridor. Sunny and crisp fall day with highs reaching the low 70s this afternoon. High pressure will remain in place this week keeping rain chances minimal. Highs will stretch into the mid to upper 70s – above average – by midweek. Overnight lows will also rise into the mid-50s to low 60s. A cold front will pass through the area Friday. Isolated to widely scattered showers will be possible. Temps will cool for the weekend back into the low 70s with sunny skies returning to the forecast.
