A cold front will slide in from the west on Thursday and bring showers back to the Carolinas. As of Tuesday evening, the system we are watching is over the Rockies, but will quickly move eastward. The area of high pressure that has brought us sunshine and warmth will give way to the cold front on Thursday. The first half of the day Thursday looks to be mainly dry with scattered showers entering the area Thursday afternoon ahead of the cold front.
The front will move through late Thursday night and likely bring another round of showers. No severe weather is expected, but I will not rule out a few general thunderstorms. Some neighborhoods could pick up a much needed 1/2 inch of rain.
Clouds will decrease through the first half of Friday with another area of high pressure building in which will lead to a beautiful, but cool weekend. We say goodbye to the 70s and hello to below average temperatures in the 6 to 10 day temperature outlook.
