A 29-year-old man has been charged for allegedly sexually a woman at gunpoint in north Charlotte on Halloween day after DNA evidence was recovered, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Police say they obtained a DNA profile from the incident that matched Tristian Terry Gilmore. As a result, warrants were obtained for his arrest.
Gilmore was arrested by CMPD on Friday without incident and was interviewed by detectives. Following an interview with detectives, Gilmore was charged with assault by pointing a firearm, communicating threats, assault on a female, 1st degree kidnapping, 1st degree sex offense, 1st degree rape, and possession of a firearm by felon, according to police.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives are asking the public’s help identifying a suspect wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman at gunpoint in north Charlotte on Halloween day.
Officers responded to the sexual assault call for service shortly after 5 a.m. on October 31st.
At the scene, officers say the victim told them that she was trying to get into her car parked on Ethel Guest Lane when an unknown suspect approached her from behind and forced her into his car at gunpoint.
She told police that the suspect then drove her to an unknown location where he sexually assaulted her before forcing her to exit the car.
Police say the suspect is described as a light-skinned Black man in his late 20’s to early 30’s with an average build.
The suspect was last seen wearing a grey hoodie and driving a four-door black Dodge Charger, according to a news release.
