Above Average Temperatures Through the Weekend

Waking up to a hazy skyline and some patchy fog. That will lift by mid-morning with the rest of the day dominated by mainly sunny skies. Highs will be slightly cooler, but still above average with temps reaching the low 80s this afternoon. The Rolling Stones Concert will be warm to start with temps in the low 80s when gates open. By showtime, temps will slide into the upper 70s. Mild this evening with lows falling to the low 60s. Dry through the weekend. Early next week a strong cold front will bring better rain and storm chances early next week.

Tropics Update:

Hurricane Sam is still a category 4 major hurricane. It is beginning its sharp turn to the north and will stay far away from the east coast. However, expect a rough surf and increased rip current risk by for the Carolina coast over the next few days. Tropical Storm Victor has formed east of the Cape Verde islands. It will likely become a hurricane this weekend before fizzling early next week. No threat for land. There is just one name left for the first list of the season – Wanda. We will move to the second list after that.
